Classes

All TLG classes and curriculum incorporate and develop critical thinking, reading, and writing. Reading improves writing, writing deepens reading, and reading and writing improve critical thinking.

TLG Reading Classes

The TLG Reading Classes are designed to provide more structured and guided reading that will expand and develop student knowledge and reading skills as well as provide a strong foundation for growth in writing. Text read in these classes are challenging non-fiction or literature that students are unlikely to read on their own. This class helps to boost the sophistication of student writing and enrich their knowledge and ability to think critically.

Available all year round, our weekly TLG Reading Classes meet once a week for two hours a class. Teachers will guide students through learning vocabulary, improving comprehension, developing knowledge, and critical thinking and analysis of text with detailed notes. Students will also be required to write a composition based on the reading.

TLG Intensive Reading Classes

In the summer and during holiday breaks, our Intensive Reading Classes run two hours a day, Monday through Friday, with students reading challenging non-fiction and literary texts with teacher guidance. Each class is 1 week long, and students can sign up for all the weeks available or choose whichever one fits their summer or holiday schedules.

Teachers will guide students through learning vocabulary, improving comprehension, developing knowledge, and critical thinking and analysis of text with detailed notes. Students will also be required to write a composition based on the reading. Taking multiple weeks of this intensive reading class can transform a student’s writing style and greatly improve the quality of the content of their compositions.
